The labrum of the hip is the tough, crescent-shaped cartilage structure that lines the rim of the hip socket (called the acetabulum), which is located in the pelvic bone.It acts as a cushion for the hip joint and secures the ball of the thighbone in the hip socket.
A tear to the labrum can result in:
- Locking, clicking or “catching” of the hip joint
- Pain in the hip/groin, especially when it rotates in certain directions
- Stiffness of the hip
- Limited range of motion
HIP FRACTURES
